As a reminder, the Local Behavioral Health Collaborative is a crucial component in the mental health picture of both Las Cruces and Doña Ana County as a whole. It is the only place where a diverse group of providers, advocates, elected officials, legislators, family members and most importantly-persons with mental health conditions, meet to discuss and address the issues relating to behavioral health facing our community.
NAMI-DAC’s vice president, who is a person with mental health conditions, is proud to be co-chair of the local collaborative, and says it is a vital source of collaboration. Collaboration is the most asked for activity by many of the stakeholders he works with on a daily basis.
2017 will include a wide variety of initiatives and changes to the Behavioral Health System of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. The local Collaborative will be the best place to see these initiatives develop. Incidentally, attendees to Collaborative meetings will gain important perspective on the impact of new initiatives from the people who are directly affected by them.
