What started out as a $2.8 million allegation has now been settled for less than $500.
Relying on an audit conducted by the private company Public Consulting Group of Boston, the state Human Services Department alleged some $33.8 million in over-billing by 15 organizations that provided mental-health services in New Mexico, and froze Medicaid funding for each group.
Southwest Counseling Center was accused at the time of over-billing by $2.8 million.
