Sun News: Settlement shows new protections needed

Relying on an audit conducted by the private company Public Consulting Group of Boston, the state Human Services Department alleged some $33.8 million in over-billing by 15 organizations that provided mental-health services in New Mexico, and froze Medicaid funding for each group.

Southwest Counseling Center was accused at the time of over-billing by $2.8 million.

More than four years, and two alternate providers, later, they have settled with the state for $484.87. Read entire Sun News article here…
